THRONE SPEECH A LUNCH BAG LET DOWN OR JUST THE LIBERALS TRYING TO BUY VOTES – There is nothing fair or caring about this!

I listened intently, at noon, today for something spectacular; something that would make it reasonable for the government to add another $8 BILLION dollars to the province’s debt; something that would justify somehow, somewhere this move…what did I get? A lunch bag let down.

Firstly, I am embarrassed for the Lieutenant Governor because the speech repeated basically what we have been living with for the past 15 years, if not longer under the the Wynne Liberals, the McGuinty Liberals, the Eve PCs, the Harris PCs, the Rae NDPs, the Peterson Liberals, the Davis/Miller PCs…nothing changes it’s always costing Ontarians.

Secondly, I am embarrassed for the Lieutenant Governor because the speech included NDP policy which is purely to buy votes, except in causing such an onerous debt the government is placing future generations in jeopardy.

Thirdly, I am embarrassed for the Lieutenant Governor because the speech was the statement that the government will not make future generations suffer with climate change. What do they think the Green Energy Act, the Samsung-Korea Consortium Deal, the debt involving electricity pricing under the Fair Hydro Plan, the sell off of Hydro, and the Carbon tax is doing? SERIOUSLY!

Fourthly, I am embarrassed for the Lieutenant Governor because the speech was a partisan speech placing the Crown in disrepute, particularly so close to an election with the sitting government using the Lieutenant Governor as a bargaining chip to buy votes.

Question – Does this government really think that tuition for everyone is the answer or is it merely to buy the vote of the 18 to 25-year old’s, considering it starts with households that have an income of $90,000.00? The government is only adding more debt on that age group and yet they may not realize it – they may only be looking at free tuition now, that will cost them way more later with the interest, on the government debt, that will drown them later life, through taxation. Also, does everyone want to go to post secondary and waste some of the best years of their working life? No one seems to be asking that question…

Then there is dental for everyone…really? Did government ask the Dental Association about this one? And what about worker benefits? Is this going to be the same double dip and insurance company protector that Pharma Care is? How dare this government go farther into debt for things that could be paid for by insurance. The elderly, those on disability already receive certain dental assistance.

Day-care was another issue brought forward. Seems the Liberals are only looking at a 60% subsidy whereas the PCs, in the People’s Guarantee, were looking at a 75% rebate…what’s going to cost more, is what Ontarians should be asking. Also, I had sitters when I was a child…what’s wrong with relatives or the like? Not everyone wants to have their children in day care or work out of the home, do they?

The other question – considering the L.G. brought it up in her speech – isn’t all day kindergarten basically high-priced day care? That’s how it seemed in her speech – from the day your child is born it seems government wants it in day care and then into all day kindergarten – I guess that’s so the taxes they collect, when you are working, can pay for the tax-payer funded tuition, the tax-payer funded Pharma care, the tax-payer funded dental, because at the rate this government is going – everyone is going to have to work extra-over time just to pay for the New-Demo-Progressive-Con-Liberal party to buy your vote.
